Federal Institute of Alagoas

THE IFAL

The Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Alagoas, Ifal, was created through a federal law that established the implementation of the Federal Network of Vocational and Technological Education (RFEPCT) throughout Brazil. In the state of Alagoas, Ifal is the result of the unification between the former Federal Center for Technological Education (Cefet) and the Federal Agrotechnical School of Satuba.

But our history began in 1909, with the foundation of the School of Apprentices and Craftsmen. Since then, from the School of Apprentices to the Lyceum of Arts and Crafts, Industrial School, Federal Technical School, Agrotechnical School, or Cefet, our century-old institution has established itself as a reference for professionalizing technical education in the State of Alagoas.

We are an education complex that includes research, extension, and teaching from basic education to post-graduation, thus providing an integral education to the citizen, through the initial training courses, technicians, technology degree, bachelor, undergraduate, and graduate courses lato sensu and stricto sensu.

Campi

We have 16 campuses based in 15 municipalities in Alagoas, offering more than 100 courses and more than 20 thousand students enrolled, transforming lives in all regions of the state. Our mission is to promote quality social, public, and free education to form critical citizens for the world of work and contribute to sustainable development.
